FAQ on Audio Transcription – Part 2

We attempt to answer the frequently asked questions by clients regarding audio transcription

1. How do I upload files? What file format should I use? My recorder records the file in WAV format, is that fine?

Answer: To upload files at ScriptoSphere, all you have to do is to go to our upload page, browse and select the file from your computer, and just click on the “SendThisFile” button.  The uploading speed will depend on your internet connection, but it should be uploaded without any glitches.  The lower the file size, the faster the whole process becomes, so formats like MP3, DSS, WMA etc. are fine.  WAV files are generally big, but you can convert them using any of the several free MP3 converters on the internet, without losing much quality.

2.  My interviews are of a sensitive nature, and I don’t want anybody else to have access to them.  Will I get a confidentiality agreement?

Answer: ScriptoSphere has no problem whatsoever with providing our clients with a confidentiality agreement.  It will be sent to you via email as a JPEG image, or if requested, can also be mailed.

3.  What is the normal turnaround time for the transcription of my files?  What if I need them sooner, like let’s say 24 hours?

Answer: The standard turnaround time, and this is consistent with every other transcription service on the web, is between 2-3 business days.  This goes at the normal rate of $0.90 per minute of audio.  If you want the transcript sooner, within 24 hours, the price goes up, and you can check these prices on our Policy page.
